Air Efficiency Award Medal (George VI) Commemorative Medal Satin-feel finish for an elegantAir Efficiency Award Medal was instituted in 1942. Awarded for 10 years service with a second award bar for a further 10 years. All ranks of the Auxiliary Air Force (from 1947 the Royal Auxiliary Air Force) and the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve were eligible for this award.
